Tantalum Tetrachloride, TaCl₄

The formation of a green substance the composition of which agreed with that of a tetrachloride was observed during the preparation of the trichloride, but from the data available it was impossible to decide if it was a simple compound or a mixture of the pentachloride and the trichloride.
